Every day; every workday morning - the outfit
dilemma. How do I look professional, modern, chic, and be comfortable? What to wear; what to wear?
Which reminds me: I read an infuriating article about a
Chicago Bar Association "lecture" offering suggestions for professional lawyer attire. Here's a link to the article: http://abovethelaw.com/2010/04/fashion-dos-and-donts-from-the-windy-city-if-you-have-a-tramp-stamp-it-may-already-be-too-late. The Chicago Bar Association presented a
"what not to wear" style runway show with Stacy & Clinton snarky critique but without any of the empowerment and kindness Stacy and Clinton bring. I found the description of the presentation appalling. The event and the “critique” was mean, denigrating, and sexist. Have female professionals not made it far enough in the legal field that we have to endure the patronizing put downs in the “presentation” or the article? Disgraceful. (Note: The article
is about a 2010 runway“presentation” and there was a similar event in 2011. I hope they’ve gotten smart and have axed this dud.)
